
Dr. Chris Burns-Cox – consultant physician at Oxford University, visited the Islamic University of Gaza and met with a number of IUG senior staff.
Dr. Cox first met with IUG Faculty of Medicine staff and students and spoke about the developments in kidney transplants, and the importance of exchanging knowledge and experiences. He also praised the advanced academic and professional level of the students of the Faculty of Medicine at IUG.
IUG President Prof. AwadAllah discussed the medical programme at the university pointing to the scientific laboratories that promote an applied study environment. He also noted the extensive training of students of the Faculty of Medicine at the Palestinian Ministry of Health hospitals and the establishment of the university Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital. Prof. AwadAllah briefed Dr. Cox on the extensive network of international collaboration between IUG and academic institutions around the world including UK universities.
