6th Conference: Evidence-Based Medicine 2 (Reality and Aspirations)
The Faculty of Medicine at the Islamic University in Gaza conducted its sixth conference entitled Evidence-Based Medicine 2 (Reality and Aspirations) on the 28th and 29th of October 2016 in the main conference hall. More than 600 doctors, academics and decision-makers attended the two-day conference.
The opening session of the conference was held in the presence of Prof. Dr. Adel Awadallah, President of the Islamic University, Dr. Yousuf Abu Al Reesh, Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Fadel Naim, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the conference, Dr. Anwar Al Shaikh Khalil, the Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs and the Chairman of the scientific committee, Dr. Hani Ferwana, Chairman of the Steering Committee, Dr. Khamees Al Essi, the General Coordinator of the Conference, Dr. Nick Maynard from Oxford University, the medical delegation from Oxford university, representatives of medical and health institutions in the Gaza strip, and a number of academics and medical students.
The conference was distinguished by the international participation of the UK Oxford University medical delegation, in addition to the participation of Dr. Ian Chalmers from the UK and Dr. Emad Dawood from Jordan, who presented their research papers.
The conference hosted six workshops that discussed various topics in different medical specialities such as internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, neurosurgery, and orthopedics.
