Professional Diploma of Medicine in Obstetrics and Reproductive Health

Enrolment requirements:

A candidate shall have

  1. Undergraduate certificate in medical or health sciences, or equivalent.
  2. Palestinian Medical Practice Licensure.
  3. Passing the selection examination.
  4. Candidates will normally be approved only after an interview by the Program consultant committee.

Clinical training:

The clinical training proceeds through 3 semesters and progressive assessments are done using a logbook. The clinical courses include:
  • Health systems management
  • Imaging & radiology in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Safe Motherhood and perinatal medicine including neonatal resuscitation
  • High-risk pregnancy and emergency Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Proposal development
  • Benign Gynecological Disorders
  • Gynecological oncology
  • Family Planning
  • Urogynecology
  • Community Reproductive Health
  • Operative obstetrics and Gynaecology including laparoscopy and emergency general surgery.
  • Obstetrics and Gynaecology practicum including obstetric anesthesia

Field Training (2 months):

Before graduation participants must complete two months of clinical training in specialty clinics and family planning clinics.
The number of working hours during the two months shall not be less than 240 hours of field training.
Field training is supervised by field specialists and supervisors.
Recording of all observations and cases that have been detected, medical treatment, or diagnosed in the logbook with the approval of the field supervisor.

By the end of 2021, this Post-Graduate Diploma program has been completed by 45 students.
