Faculty of Medicine in Islamic University of Gaza and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have launched several joint programs to help improve the sport medicine sector through conducting training courses, research studies and workshops.
Distinguished personnel of both parties attended the launching ceremony, including Dr Fadil Naim - the dean of Faculty of Medicine IUG, Dr. Khalid Al Kahlout - responsible for professional development programs at Faculty of medicine, Mr. Ahmad Mhaisen, Assistant Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mahmoud Baroud - Director General Office of the Minister of Youth and Sports, and Mr. Amer Abu Ramadan - Director of Sports Affairs in the Ministry.
Dr. Naim, has expresses great enthusiasm to start the research studies and workshops in the near future. He also, urged to include the proper healthy practices as a prerequisite for any sport club license, to ensure the safety of the players. He also noted that advanced courses will be conducted to train sport club personnel to properly manage sport injuries.
Mr. Mhaisen enticed that this is a big step in promoting health awareness among sport clubs, guided by professionals in the field.
